Company Car Selection -

New drivers join the scheme using the online Optifleet platform.  Subject to scheme policy, they can choose from the company car list relevant to their grade, or select any car as a Personal Car Plan (ECO) option.

When a vehicle from the company car list is selected, the driver can see the monthly net cost of this in tax if provided as a company car or in net cash terms as a PCP alternative.  Where the business mileage profile of drivers is low, the chances are that the Company Car option will be displayed as the cheaper option, and where it is high the PCP should look considerably better.  The dynamic nature of this function is essential to minimise costs to the business and maximise value to employees.

Where drivers prefer to choose from outside the company car list, the net cost of the chosen PCP option versus the benchmark company car for the grade is illustrated as a comparison. This enables drivers to effectively trade up or down without compromising the company car fleet.

When a decision is reached, the driver can order the vehicle online - subject to company approval – and Opticar will organise fulfilment. The benefit to the company is that the driver is guided to towards the most cost-effective funding route at the very start of the car selection process.
