Opticar welcomes Alex Butcher

Toomey Opticar has appointed Alex Butcher as Sales Director, taking over the lead sales role from Peter Eldon, previously MD who left the business at the end of 2009 to pursue new opportunities in the electronics industry.  Alex held a senior sales role in Eurolease prior to Joining Opticar, and was already familiar with a number of joint accounts with whom he will continue to work closely.  Jim Salkeld, Chairman of Toomey Opticar says “This is a great opportunity for Alex to build on an established base, managing the existing sales team as well as recruiting more to meet our growth targets.”  Alex was with Eurolease for more than seven years following a successful stint as General Sales Manager at Pendragon plc in Derby.  He has more than 23 years experience in sales and intends to use his skills to great effect in Opticar.  He says “When I first started in fleet, it was more a question of ‘how much’ than what we could offer in terms of employee benefits, but that’s all changing as companies seek to reduce employment costs as well as obtain best value for their employees.  It really is an exciting opportunity and I’m very pleased to be part of the team.”
